This internship opportunity will provide hands-on experience in event operations, customer service, and venue management. You will work closely with the Event Services team to learn and ensure the successful planning and execution of a wide range of events hosted at NRG Park. Interns are expected to work a minimum of twenty (20) to twenty-five (25) hours per week with up to a 1-year commitment and must be currently enrolled in at minimum of a 2-to-4-year program.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Assist the Event Services team in coordinating and executing events held at NRG Park.
  • Collaborate with event organizers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure seamless event operations.
  • Support the planning and execution of event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and coordination of event resources.
  • Provide excellent customer service to event organizers, clients, and attendees, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with pre-event and post-event activities, such as event scheduling, contracts, permits, and event documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of event-related materials, such as event guides, floor plans, and technical specifications.
  • Assist in conducting site visits and inspections to ensure venue readiness and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Research and update daily calendar reports. Assist in the drafting, proofreading, and processing of these reports and related documents.
  • Support the implementation of event policies and procedures to ensure the smooth functioning of events.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to event services.

  • Assist the IT team in the maintenance and support of technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and servers.
  • Collaborate with IT personnel to respond to user requests for assistance, troubleshoot problems, and help develop solutions.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, and software applications.

  • Work with the Parking Supervisor on duty, to obtain, discuss, and implement the daily parking plan.
  • Overview the daily Parker schedules and coordinate with a parking supervisor on transporting staff to key areas.
  • Oversee Parkers to ensure job conformity.
  • Monitor staff levels and locations throughout the work day to maintain effective workflow of all parking lots.
  • Due to changes in traffic, Lead will coordinate with parking supervisors and parking management to ensure a steady flow of traffic.

Part-Time Police Officers are responsible for protecting and promoting the safety and welfare of NRG Park facilities, guests, and staff during scheduled events, while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and department policies.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Provide traffic control and security for the property, facility, costumers, and patrons.
  • Respond to and enforce all applicable laws and respective agency policies.
  • Complete incident reports as required by law and an internal report for NRG Park property.
  • Support facility personnel in the event of an emergency to include evacuation, lock down or shelter-in-place responses.
  • Deescalate potentially unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Perform security related patrols in concourses, lobbies, or parking lots.
  • Monitor access points to the NRG Park property and facilities to ensure only authorized entry is gained. This includes parking lot gates, facility security checkpoints, and other points of ingress and egress.
  • Operates assigned radio equipment.
  • Offer customer services such as directional information, vehicle jump-starts and escorts as necessary.
  • Attend Guest Service-related trainings and orientations as requested.
  • Monitor or secure high value assets such as money rooms, box offices, or Cashier gates.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
