Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of operations including event coordination and services, rigging, housekeeping, event staffing, set-ups and changeovers, crowd and risk management, fire and life safety and ADA compliance.
  • Manage subordinate supervisors who oversee employees in various functions.
  • Implement and train all employees on the operating procedures, preventive maintenance schedules, emergency plans, and safety/risk management policies that conform to NRG Park standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of service agreements for event services, housekeeping services, maintenance, and other agreements as needed.
  • Inspect conversions, construction, and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Authorize the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.
  • Act as a liaison between tenants and facility contractors as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • 3 to 5 Years previous experience in the sports and entertainment and/or venue management industry preferred.
  • Fork lift experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Provide services as needed to a third-party audio-visual services company for AV event coordination; audio visual services, supplemental rental equipment and building asset modification as needed.
  • Assist with the connections to the buildings electronic systems as required for safe and efficient building operation.
  • Perform maintenance for sound systems, LED displays, video displays, electronic marquees, lighting control systems, intercom systems and the RF television distribution system (including replacing TVs as needed).
  • Maintain and monitor CATV head-end equipment along with meeting room sound distribution system.
  • Maintain and monitor facility inventory related to technical service such as radios, TV’s, spares for video and audio systems.
  • Work hand in hand with NRG Park Information Technology Department staff.

  • Become familiar with and utilize in-house Maintenance Work Request System and ASM Issues Tracking logging systems.
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems. Set up and/or operate audio and video equipment including microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, fiber patching, sound and mixing boards, and related electronic equipment for meetings and presentations.

Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena.    We are seeking a unique Event Manager to join our Event Services team.  Under general supervision, the Event Manager controls and monitors the customer contact aspect and front-of-house division of the facility.  Plans, monitors, directs, and manages the event coordination, security, crowd control, exhibitor services, outside contractor service functions, and enforces fire marshal regulations.  Acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all clients’ requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Plan, organize, and manage events at NRG Park.
  • Ensure successful event execution through supervising and training Event Coordinators.
  • Accurately prepare event estimates in conjunction with the contractual proposals set forth by the Sales Team.
  • Staff and supervise medical personnel, crowd control, ushers, ticket takers, and Police Officers for events.
  • Research, review and recommend equipment, materials and supplies required in providing event services and planning.
  • Build event diagrams using AutoCAD software
  • During large tenant events on property, work with other Event Managers to help manage assigned tasks associated with that event.
  • Work closely with the Exhibitor Services Manager to ensure all services ordered through the online ordering system are delivered in a timely and consistent fashion.
  • Coordinate outside service needs with food and beverage contractor, decorators, or other vendors.
  • Assist with special needs or requests for all front-of-house arrangements such as opening of house, late seating, clearing aisles, ADA accommodations, etc.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Department with regards to all media entry into the building before, during or immediately following events.
  • Coordinate with either 24-hour Security or Event Security to ensure proper filing of all personal injury and accident reports that may occur during events or daily operations.
  • Communicate in a timely and accurate fashion all settlement closeout documents to Finance related to vendor invoices, service provider invoices, etc.
  • Accurately execute all back-end documentation related to the event, i.e., post event notes, event photo uploads, event folder production and sorting, etc.
  • When applicable, participate in post event meetings to provide detailed feedback which enhances repeat events or future events of similar genre.
  • Maintain the proper image and generate positive public relations with artists, clients, exhibitors, patrons, and staff.
  • Take direction and communicate with all users of the facility in an emergency situation.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Manage and oversee the NRG Stadium tour program, including staffing and training tour guides, managing tour calendar, prepare and promote tours to large groups.
  • Enhance the guest and client experience with customer service programs.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities    

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws.
  • Supervise Guest Services Staff (both in-house and sub-contracted personnel) and Guest Services Coordinator to help manage the expectations of the Guest Services department.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; schedule approvals; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.

Education and/or Experience        

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education or experience.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Good written, verbal and computer skills.
  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications and problem solving.
  • Work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups for training sessions.

 

Computer Skills

  • Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using Ticketmaster, MS Windows, Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint.

 

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays.
  • Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in Texas.
