Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena.    We are seeking a unique Part-Time Command Center Operator to join our Security team.  Under general supervision, the Command Center Operator is responsible for the surveillance of all security and television monitors on the facility and surrounding grounds, monitoring all access control systems and the dispatching of response personnel. Acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all clients’ requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.

  • Configure and manage all VLAN’s.

  • Assists in the negotiation of contracts and procedures for maintenance of network hardware and software for the purpose of ensuring a current and reliable network.
  • Provides and maintains backups for network servers, databases, and virtual infrastructure.
  • Manages network operations, including troubleshooting connectivity problems; installing and maintaining firewall; adding/removing users; assigning rights and access; resetting passwords; establishing email addresses; assessing and reporting operation status; performing backups and restores.
  • Manage Office 365 integration with local active directory and hybrid Exchange.

 

  • Ensures technology documents/certificates such as product registrations, SSL certificates, maintenance agreements, and service contracts services are evaluated, updated, and processed.

  • Lead incident investigations both internally and with the client as required by attending any applicable investigations and subsequent meetings, ensuring venues’ safety policies are met. Facilitate timely completion of accident/injury reporting.
  • Oversee all aspects of safety committee including serving as Chairperson, regular review and updating of all safety plans and conducting regular site inspections for safety compliance. Facilitating safety committee to train, investigate and address accident and injury reports.
  • Monitor regulatory process to identify future applicable regulations and their impact on operations
  • Create and maintain physical and electronic library of all inspection documentation.
  • Assist with the compliance for emergency generators and the proper documentation of building systems relative to Life Safety.
  • Assist with ADA compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Communicate with clients to obtain necessary technical requirements and other event related information.
  • Accurately prepare event estimates in conjunction with the contractual proposals set forth by the Sales Team.
  • Work closely with and receive direction, mentorship, and coaching from Event Managers
  • Properly execute in a timely fashion all back-end paperwork related to the event, i.e., post event notes, settlements, photo uploads, etc.

  • Perform other accounting functions as they arise (e.g., ad hoc reporting, etc.). Support year-end audit functions. In addition, work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holiday, as needed.
  • Request vendor information including W9 from new vendor to properly setup vendor for payment and maintain accurate records.
  • Complete vendor credit requests as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience        

  • Associate degree from a two-year college or university 1-2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years related experience in the sports and entertainment industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Discretion in dealing with confidential and delicate materials and information.
  • Demonstrate effective organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Process a high standard of integrity and commitment to quality of work.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately review statistical and other financial records and information.

 

Computer Skills

  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Word, Excel and other standard office equipment.
  • Experience on an accounting software package is preferred, Solomon and File Maker Pro is a plus.

 

Other Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work under above average pressure in meeting urgent deadlines.
  • Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
