Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Intern at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. NRG Park is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are a one-of-a-kind premier facility with four major venues within one giant park. NRG Center (one million+ sq. ft. Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena.    We are seeking a creative Sales Intern to work alongside our team! This internship opportunity will provide learning and hands-on experience in sales and client relationship management within the entertainment industry. Interns are expected to work a minimum of twenty (20) to twenty-five (25) hours per week with up to a 1-year commitment and must be currently enrolled in at minimum of a 2-to-4-year program.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Assist the Sales team in identifying and targeting potential clients for NRG Park events.
  • Assist with event day preparation and activities for the Sales department at NRG Park.
  • Support the sales process by conducting research on potential clients, gathering contact information, and creating prospect lists.
  • Aid in the development of sales collateral, presentations, and proposals to showcase offerings and benefits.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of tours, showcasing the amenities and features of the suits to prospective clients.
  • Participate in sales meetings and presentations, gaining exposure to the negotiation and closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer relationship management records, tracking interactions and progress with potential and existing clients.
  • Support the preparation and execution of contracts, including managing contract documentation and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as marketing and operations, to ensure seamless delivery of services and client satisfaction.
  • Assist with post-event evaluations, gathering feedback from clients to identify areas for improvement and upselling opportunities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions related to suit sales.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, file management, and reporting.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience        

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business administration, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work well under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to lift and carry event-related equipment and materials, as necessary.

 

Computer Skills

  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other standard office equipment.

 

Other Qualifications

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
  • Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
