Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Financial Analyst at NRG Park in Houston, Texas.  NRG Park is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement.  We are a one-of-a-kind premier facility with four major venues within one giant park.  NRG Center (one million+ sq. ft. Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena.    We are seeking a unique Financial Analyst to join our Finance team.   Under general supervision of the Director of Finance, works closely with all Finance and Accounting operational financial matters within the Finance Department including, but not limited to, executive projects, event settlements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll submissions to corporate office, auditing, box office, training, and supervising department staff.  Also, acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all clients’ requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Develop, implement, maintain and update as needed the goals, projects, policies, procedures, methods, and controls required for the facility’s financial transactions and forecasting.
  • Provide data, reports, and other information to assist in the preparation of the annual budget and in forecasting revenues, expenditures, and year-end balances.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and other documents as required by the facility’s management agreement, corporate policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare profit and loss statements, tax returns, special projects, studies, and other analyses as needed.
  • Develop and maintain internal audit controls; conduct periodic internal audits of sub-contractors and supervise external audits.
  • Assist in directing personnel involved in accounting activities including maintenance of general ledgers, analysis of financial data, payroll, accounts receivable and payable and other related activities.
  • Recommend and evaluate system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Serve as support and backup for payroll.
  • Work extended and/ or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities    

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the finance department.
  • Directly supervises the Finance Department employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global's policies and applicable laws.

  • Know and apply standard accounting principles, financial control procedures, computerized accounting systems/software, and financial management.

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

Education and/or Experience      

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting or Finance with two (2) years in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Work effectively under pressure and produce accurate results.

 

Computer Skills  

  • Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using MS Windows, Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Knowledge of Solomon or D365 a plus.
  • Experience with ADP, Workday or similar payroll system and ABI a plus.

 

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to work irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
