Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Accounts Receivable Specialist at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. NRG Park is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are a one-of-a-kind premier facility with four major venues within one giant park. NRG Center (one million+ sq. ft. Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena. We are seeking a unique Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team. Under general supervision of the Director of Finance and Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist supports the Finance Department and is responsible for accounts receivable. Also, acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all clients’ requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following:
- Assist the Finance Department in its day-to-day activities.
- Key data into accounting software for A/R and general journal entries.
- Billing and distributing invoices.
- Record customer payments, checks, cash, and/or credit card transactions.
- Record and post sales from various facility functions, i.e., Parking, Box Office ticket sales, Exhibitor Services sales, and any other revenue sources.
- Assist in preparation of accounts receivable process including payment processing and preparations of invoices.
- Assist in review of accounts receivable aging for timely collection.
- Preparation of check deposit batch and posting.
- Resolve credit card chargebacks.
- Complete assigned sections of the monthly close by the specified deadline.
- Communicate with accounting staff regarding status of projects, workload, and concerns in the department daily.
- Assist in preparation of audit schedules.
- Assist Accounting Department, including but not limited to, Accountants, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager and Director of Finance.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers and internal clients for inquiries related to accounts receivable activity.
- Complete vendor credit requests as needed.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree from a two-year college or university plus 1-2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years related experience in the sports and entertainment industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
Skills and Abilities
- Discretion in dealing with confidential and delicate materials and information.
- Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
- Process a high standard of integrity and commitment to quality of work.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately review statistical and other financial records and information.
- Ability to work under above average pressure in meeting urgent deadlines.
Computer Skills
- Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using MS Windows, Excel, MS Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
- Knowledge of Solomon or D365 a plus.
Other Qualifications
- Ability to work irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
